Introduction

This will be a memoir of my thoughts and impressions as I review each hymn from first to last from the current LDS hymnal, as music plays such a huge role in my life.

This morning as I was listening to beautiful Christmas Hymns I realized that hymns are the best little sermons available. Everyone listens to music and a lot of people sing along. No one gets a degree of scholarship that grants them permission to compose a hymn, and yet, they contain some of the best teachings man has ever known. Hymns truly are prayers in the lips of they who sing them

Not in order

this was in no way prepared, it was just on my mind as I brushed my hair, so I'll write it here:

"... Oh, naught but the spirit's divinest tuition can give us the wisdom to truly succeed.,"

Which would be divinest of all educations?

Immediately, I thought of the words last night. I could actually be told the most true things of all if I asked and studied my scriptures.
